Shell We Mahj is an Orange Beach mahjong community for anyone who loves good games, good people, and the occasional ocean breeze.
It started with one set of tiles and too many snacks.

A few summers ago, a handful of neighbors dragged a folding table onto a back porch in Orange Beach and cracked open a mahjong set that had been sitting in a closet for years. Nobody remembered all the rules. Somebody looked them up on their phone. By midnight, nobody wanted to stop.
Word spread the way it does in a beach town — slowly, then all at once. Friends brought friends. Snowbirds joined in. A few competitive types showed up and got humbled. Now we gather every week, rain or shine, tiles clicking and laughter carrying out over the Gulf.
We're not a league. We're not a club with dues and bylaws. We're just people who love a good game and love this stretch of the Alabama coast even more.

Beginner, expert, or somewhere in between — if you want to play, there's a seat for you. We'll teach you the rules and celebrate your first win.
Keep it casual
We take the game seriously enough to make it fun, but not so seriously that it stops being fun. Good sportsmanship is the only requirement.
